Why Ironquill

What Sets the Approach Apart

These courses are written for people who have actual financial documents in hand — not for students beginning from zero.

Document-First Teaching

Lessons begin with real-world documents — payslips, EPF statements, loan agreements — rather than financial theory disconnected from daily life.

Suited to Midlife Timelines

Content is calibrated for adults with a shorter working horizon ahead. Every framework accounts for where you are now, not where a 25-year-old might be.

Non-Judgemental Tone

No course here implies you should have done something differently before now. The material works with what exists, not against it.

Malaysian Context Throughout

EPF regulations, local care costs, Malaysian tax structures, and Ringgit-denominated examples throughout — not adapted from foreign curricula.

Working Materials Included

Each course includes annotated samples, workbooks, or reference sheets you can keep. The materials are designed to be used, not just read once.

Small Group Delivery

Sessions run in small cohorts so questions can be asked without hesitation. There is space to slow down on any section that warrants it.

Common Questions

Questions People Usually Ask

Who are these courses written for?

The courses are written for working or recently retired Malaysian adults, typically between 40 and 65, who want to understand their own financial documents and decisions more clearly. No prior financial training is assumed. The tone is appropriate for someone who has been managing their own affairs for years but has not formally studied any of this material.

Are courses delivered online or in person?

Both formats are available depending on the cohort. In-person sessions are held at our Kuching office on Jalan Padungan. Online delivery is conducted via video call with downloadable course materials. Please ask when you enquire about your preferred format.

Do I need to bring my own payslip or EPF statement?

For the payslip and EPF course, yes — working from your own documents makes the material much more useful. Annotated sample documents are also provided, so you can follow along even before you locate your own. Your documents are never collected or retained.

Can I take the care-planning course if my parents are already elderly?

Yes. The long-term care course is relevant whether planning is just beginning or already underway. Some participants have found it useful precisely because a parent's situation has recently changed. The material does not assume you are starting from a comfortable position.

What is the payment arrangement?

Course fees are settled before the first session. Payment is accepted by bank transfer. The fee for each course is stated clearly: RM 690 for the payslip course, RM 1,420 for the borrowing course, and RM 2,250 for the care-planning course. There are no add-on charges.

Is there any follow-up support after a course ends?

The care-planning course includes a closing consultation. For the other courses, participants may email questions for a short period following completion. The scope is clarification of course material, not ongoing personal financial advice.
